Student Induction Program “AAGHAAZ” 2023-24 was organized by IQAC at Hamidia Girls Degree College on 24.07.2023 at Begum Khurshid Khwaja Hall at 11:00 am. Dr. Anand Kumar Srivastava, Ex-Principal CMP Degree College, Chief Guest of the program, while addressing the students said that the first and foremost duty of students is to study. He further said that today our education system promotes remote learning which hinders the natural and progressive development of students. He gave reference of National Education Policy 2020 and said that the objectives of education should be training of citizenship. Through education we should develop good citizen who can serve the society in best possible manner. He highlighted negative impact of the digital era on the human development and motivated students to make use of digital gadget smartly so that it should be a boon for them not a curse. He said that the criteria of success is totally changed. Success is not important. It is important to be meaningful. Knowledge is meaningless until and unless it is not reflected in our behaviour. He explained how Education plays a major role in the growth and progress of a society. If citizens of a society are educated, they can provide significant contributions in the fields of arts, literature, science, technology, and others, and help establish a well-rounded and stimulating community
Special guest Prof. NB Singh, Ex-Professor, Department of Botany, Allahabad University, said that A tree is the best friend of man on earth.” When we use trees respectfully and economically, we have one of the greatest resources on earth. Trees are rightfully called the ‘lungs of the earth.’ Life on earth would cease to exist in the absence of trees. Trees are responsible for sustaining the environment in several ways. In the era of development we are cutting trees without thinking about the survival in future. Today we are facing natural calamities yet we don’t understand that we should protect our environment by making little change in our habbit. Now a days people have severe health issues as they are far away from nature.For being healthy and prosperous it is essential to protect and be close with nature.
Special guest Dr. Rajesh Kumar Garg, Coordinator National Service Scheme, Allahabad University motivated the students to take initiative to protect our environment by taking small steps in this direction by not using plastics bags. He urge the students to clean and protect the environment for future generations.
Special guest Mr. Farhan Ullah, Assistant Manager Hamidia Girls Degree College addressing the girl students motivated the students to excel in their field and serve the society in best possible manner.
Earlier Principal of the College, Professor Naseha Usmani welcomed and introduced all the guests. Bouquets and Momento were presented by the students of the college. Former Principal Professor Yusufa Nafees addressed the girl students. Naqsh E Nau, an annual journal, Department of Urdu was released on this occassion. At the end, the students were given certificates related to various competitions .The program was conducted by Dr. Eram Farid Usmani, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology and the vote of thanks was done by Dr. Zarina Begum, Associate Professor, Department of Urdu.
