Department of Geography Hamidia Girls’ Degree College has organized the poster competition on 23rd August 2024 on the occasion of India Space Day. Students from different backgrounds, colleges and schools have participated in this competition and shown their creativity through arts. Dr. Amna Farooqui (associate professor) convener of the Geography Department and the India space week program coordinator Dr. Shabnam Ara (assistant professor) have also given some information about the space and ISRO work to the students. The motto of this program was to make aware to the student about ISRO and India’s achievement in space science. The first winner of this competition was Shabina BA 3rd year Geography, Hamidia Gilrs’ Degree College.
The program was announced by our PM Shri Narendra Modi ji that all the academic institutions has to celebrate the 23 August as a National Space Day. Therefore, the faculties and students of Hamidia Girls’ Degree College, University of Allahabad, have registered themselves to participate in an online oath ceremony on 23rd August 2024 and in online voting for the founder of space Revolution Shri Narendra Modi to support his efforts to the national space day site. Students and teachers have also participated in Astro photography competition in which they had to click a picture from their normal or professional camera of the moon, space or any celestial body by 23rd August and it should be uploaded on the same website as mentioned above by 28 August 2024. For these competitions there is cash price for the first winner i. e. 5000, 3000 for second and for the third winner it is 2000 the result will be declared on 18 October 2024.
