On the second day of NAWA- E- Urdu an online program, National education day was celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam, educationist who is known for making significant contribution in the field of education. On this occasion Prof. R.R .Tewari , Honorable Vice- Chancellor, University of Allahabad was the chief guest. Prof. Abdul Haq, Emeritus, Professor, University of Delhi, New Delhi was the special guest. Professor R R Tiwari discussed new education policy and highlighted the milestones in reformation of education system. He further said that new education policy will replace Rote learning to conceptual learning and critical thinking which is pre-requisite for the progress of of nation. He said that it is very challenging for teachers to adopt the measures of new educational policies. Professor Tiwari inaugurated the online learning portal of the college ‘Parwaz ‘on this occasion. He appreciated the initiative of the college for launching online learning portal parvaaz. Professor R R Tiwari said that Maulana Abul Kalam Azad contribution is remarkable in reconstruction of modern education system. Prof. Abdul Haq, Emeritus Professsor, University of Delhi, New Delhi said that Maulana Azad was a great visionary and he will be always remembered for his enduring contribution in the field of education & for relentlessly striving for national unity.He emphasize on different phase of Indian Education System after Independence and discussed the challenges of that era. He appreciated the efforts of Maulana Azaad framing the structure of higher education. He highlighted that Maulana Azad played a major role in the establishment of the University Grants Commission (UGC), which is the regulatory body for all higher education institutes in India. He was also responsible for establishing the first Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in the country.
Earlier Dr. Yusufa Nafees, principal of the college welcomed the guest. Dr Naseha Usmani, Associate Professor, Department of Urdu, conducted the program and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr.Shama Rani, Associate Professor, Department of Education, HGDC.
