“A Cultural, Historical and Botanical tour of Company Garden Prayagraj” Department of Medieval History, Hamidia Girls’ Degree College organize a Cultural, Historical and Botanical tour of Company Garden, Prayagraj on March 11th , 2024. Dr. Nuzhat Fatima, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Medieval History, Dr. Subiya Hashmat, Visiting Faculty, Dept. of Medieval History and students of M.A. IV semester students participated in this tour.
The tour of Company Garden was a memorable and enriching experience for all faculty members and students. Student learned a lot about the history, culture and botany of the garden and the city. They visited Victoria Memorial, Chandrashekhar, Allahabad Museum and Azad Park (Alfred Park).
The students also got opportunity to browse and read the collection of rare books and news papers of colonial period in the public library located at the Company Garden. Students also obtained library membership. They saw different types of lovely, colourful and unique flowers after seeing the flowers and vegetables decoration the student become enthusiastic about gardening. They gained new knowledge, skills insights and prospective from the trip .They also develope a sense of curiosity, respect and appreciation for the natural historical and cultural heritage of our country. Finally tour was a valuable and worthwhile activity
